CANDLE SAFETY TIPS

  1. Always keep a burning candle within sight
  2. Never burn a candle on or near anything that can catch fire
  3. Keep burning candles out of the reach of children and pets
  4. Always use a candleholder or vessel specifically designed for the heat of candle use
  5. Always burn candles on a stable, heat-resistant surface
  6. Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches and debris
  7. Keep burning candles away from drafts, vents, ceiling fans and air currents
  8. Do not burn a candle all the way down (leave 2” for pillars or ½” for containers)
  9. Never touch or move a burning candle.
  10. Place burning candles at least three inches apart from one another.
  11. Use a snuffer to extinguish a candle.
  12. Never extinguish candles with water - oil and water DON’T mix!
  13. Extinguish a candle if it repeatedly smokes or the flame becomes too high
  14. Never use a candle as a night light
  15. Never burn a candle longer than 4 hours
  16. Do not leave burning candles unattended
